Spearman School Board to meet in a SPECIAL Meeting today at NOON

The Spearman School Board will hold a Special meeting at noon TODAY (Tuesday) to consider to discuss staffing and professional contract and then convene into an open session to consider the posting of a Coach-Teacher position and consider contracts for new employees.

During the regular meeting last week, Board members expressed their concerns about filling the many open positions in the District and about the funding challenges that the Board might face in the next school year. It was reported that district enrollment is down significantly and the state has yet to make decisions on fund public education for the next year, painting the schools financial picture as challenging.

The special meeting today follows a Board meeting last week, where the School Board, which includes two newly elected members, discussed staffing and contract issues in closed session.
