The Spearman Community Fund Awards Grants to Local Non-Profits

The Spearman Community Fund has awarded grants in the total amount of $113,000 since it’s first grant cycle in 2016. During the 2023 cycle, the grant committee awarded $27,500 in Grants to eight (8) Spearman organizations.

Those non-profits receiving grants were:

Spearman ISD: $4,000 - The Funds will be used for Adult ESL Programs.

O’Loughlin Center $2,500 - The Funds will be used for Kid’s Kamp.

Hansford County Library: $4,000 - The Funds will be used to purchase a new computer for public use.

Stationmaster’s Museum: $4,000 - The funds will be used to help with the project to re-open the Museum.

Dax Foundation $4,000 - The Funds will be used to support families needing assistance with medical-related travel expenses.

Spearman Ministerial Alliance: $2,500 - The Funds will be used to purchase a Generator for the Food Bank

Spearman Swim Club: $4,000 - The Funds will be used for training gear, coaching expenses and to purchase a new computer.

Windmill Association: $2,500 - The funds will be used to hire summer help to repair some of the damaged windmills.

The SCF also paid tribute to Marilyn Blodgett Cline for her many years of service as a SCF Board Member.

The Spearman Community Fund is an affiliate fund of the Amarillo Area Foundation, set up as an endowment fund whose sole purpose is to support Spearman and its nonprofit community.
