Joe Manuel Martinez, 56, of Spearman passed away on Thursday, June 15,2023.

Viewing was held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 (9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.), Sunday, June 18, 2023 (1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.), and Monday, June 19, 2023 (9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.). Funeral Services will were held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the Spearman Varsity Gym, 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Tyler Hines officiating. Burial at Hansford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the directions of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Joe was born on October 31, 1966 in Slaton, Texas, to Juan O. Martinez and Soledad Ramirez Martinez. Joe married Melody Palmer on December 15, 1991 in Liberal, Kansas, and they went on to raise four beautiful children and six grandchildren. He was a devout Christian and a member of First Assembly of God in Spearman. He had a passion for many things, including horses, making others smile, and most importantly being a Grandpa and spending as much time as possible with his grandkids. He was an extremely hardworking man, working for Spearman ISD’s transportation department for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Roman Sr. and Juan Jr.
Joe is survived by his wife, Melody Martinez, daughter Kayla Kimbro and son-in-law Michael Patten of Mustang, OK, son Joe Martinez Jr. and wife Hannah of Spearman, TX, son Josh Martinez and wife Cassie of Spearman, TX, daughter Karissa Martinez of Spearman, TX, as well as brothers Isaias Martinez, Andrew Martinez, Ruben Martinez, Daniel Martinez, and Jeremiah Martinez, Albert Ramirez; sisters Rebecca Caballero, Raquel Pinedo, Belinda Ramirez, Benita Flores, Martha Carrasco, and Anna Navarette, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Braxton Martinez (8), Lincoln Martinez (5), Jasper Martinez (4), Wyatt Martinez (2), Drew Martinez (1), Macklyn Martinez (1), and two new additions coming later this year.
The family requests memorials in memory of Joe be to First Assembly of God of Spearman. Family donations can also be made at the Spearman ISD Business Office.
