JL Brock, 94, Spearman

JL Brock, 94, of Spearman passed away on June 27, 2023. Viewing was held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 (2:00p.m.-9:00p.m.) Thursday, June 29, 2023 (9:00a.m.-9:00p.m.) at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Services were held on Friday, June 30,2023 at the First Baptist Church in Spearman at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Byron Potter officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

J.L. was born in Fargo, Texas on September 7, 1928 to John Lester Brock and Veatrice Ferguson. He attended Texas Tech University. J.L. and Mary McLain were married on August 10, 1949 in Spearman, Texas. He began Brock Insurance in 1952 and retired in 1996. He was very involved in Spearman and received Citizen of the Year in Spearman. J.L. farmed and ranched in Hansford County for many years. Flying was his favorite pass time enjoyment through the years. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a longtime member and Elder, of the First Christian Church in Spearman. He is now a member of the First Baptist Church in Spearman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jeff Brock.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home, daughter, Debra and husband, James W. Brown of Austin, TX., sons, Kim and Stephanie Brock of Spearman, Todd and Christy Brock of Dallas, TX.; brother, Bobby Brock of Denver Colorado, sister Betty Tamplin of Crowell, TX. ; grandchildren, Amanda (Colby) May of Austin,TX., Cami (Jeremy) Brumley of Austin, TX., Janna Brock of Spearman, Jordan Brock of Dallas,TX., John (Courtney) Brock, of Dallas,TX., Meg (Cody)Morris of Pilot Point, TX. Meryl (Kyle)Posey of Dallas, TX., and Mackenzie (Andrew) Piatkowski of McKenny, TX. He is also survived in death by his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Evie, Riley, Reid, Reece, Ellie, Ren, Carter, Coen, Owen , Zoe, Ava, Will, Sam, Jett, and Frankie
