Adventures At SHS: Political Views

by Cloey Rex

Recently, Joe Biden has made a very surprise visit to Ukraine, to discuss matters with the Ukrainian president. Biden spent more than five hours in the Ukrainian capital, consulting with Zelenskyy on next steps, honoring the country's fallen soldiers and seeing U.S. embassy staff in the besieged country. Altogether he was on Ukrainian territory for about 23 hours, traveling by train from and back to Poland.

I've asked high school students from each grade level their thoughts on the matter, a Freshman, Piper Pipkin, a Sophomore, Chance Swan, a Junior, Rylan Lozano, and a senior, Matthew Barnes.

Piper Pipkin says, " I think he should try and boost morale IN AMERICA, rather than going to a foreign country. I think he should get all America behind him and then do things like that. It would be better than what he's doing right now, with no one with him."

Chance Swan remarked, "This was a very bold decision, given the circumstances of what recently happened in

the U.S."

Rylan Lozano thinks, "It was a good thing to show that America has a presence there, that being said, there could always be a better time, but it is a good thing he went and actually had the grit to go and not just hide in The White House."

Matthew Barnes stated, "He's going to Ukraine?!"
