Pat Patterson, 80, Spearman

Pat Patterson, known as Pat to friends and family, passed away on December 17, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas. Pat was 80 years old and joins his wife Cathy Patterson in the Lord’s embrace. 

The youngest son of Larry Medlin and Rose Maudine Patterson, Pat was born July, 11, 1945 and attended school in Spearman graduating with the class of 1963. Pat was united in marriage with Cathy on December 28, 1964 in Spearman, Texas where they lived for most of their lives. 

Pat was the devoted father of two sons and a lifelong cowboy, farmer, and rancher known for his unrelenting work ethic and good humor. Pat was active throughout his entire life until the very end and enjoyed playing poker, investing, tinkering, fixing, and having a good visit with his many friends and acquaintances. 

Pat is survived by two sons Travis Patterson and wife Lana of Spearman and Clint Patterson and wife Anna of Seattle, Washington; a sister-in-law and companion, Joan Crum of Amarillo, Texas and her daughters Tamara Silbert and Reagan Hales; six grandchildren Lauren, Trace, Emma, Zane, Claire, and Natalie; and two great grandchildren, Haddie and True Karlin. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Sonny and John and sister Joyce.

The family has announced they will have the service on Monday with a private family gathering at 11 am at the graveside at Holt Cemetery and a service at the Church of Christ at 2 pm.  Viewing will be at Boxwell Brothers in Spearman on Saturday, December 20, from 9 am to 9 pm, and Sunday, December 21, from 1 to 9 pm.
