Hansford County Libertarian Party Elects First-Ever County Chairman

Spearman, TX -- The Hansford County Libertarian Party has officially selected Dave Richmond as its first County Chairman, marking a historic milestone for the Libertarian Party's presence and organization in Hansford County.
Richmond brings a diverse background in public service, national security, and education to the role. After attending Clovis High School in Clovis, New Mexico, Richmond enlisted in the United States Navy following graduation. His military career included assignments with Naval Security Group Activity Adak, Alaska, and participation in a Joint Chiefs of Staff - directed special program supporting national information warfare objectives. He worked in coordination with the Office of Naval Intelligence, the National Security Agency, and U.S. Special Operations Command, and later served as the Navy's technical agent for information warfare vulnerability assessments and system prototype development at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Richmond currently serves in the Texas State Guard, assigned to Charlie Squad, Bravo Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Brigade, based in Lubbock, Texas.
In addition to his military service, Richmond has an extensive background in education. He graduated cum laude from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and a minor in History. He also holds a graduate certification in Strategic Studies from Texas Tech University and a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification from Columbia University. His teaching career began in Hale Center, Texas, where he taught middle school math and social studies, followed by 12 years teaching high school overseas in China.
Richmond currently serves as the Social Studies Department Head at Spearman High School, where he teaches World History, U.S. History, Government and Economics. He also serves as the school's UIL coordinator, Faculty Advisor for Student Council, coach for multiple academic teams, a daily bus route driver, and is a full-time graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Administration.
As County Chairman, Richmond plans to focus on building local party infrastructure, increasing voter education, and advancing Libertarian principles of individual liberty, limited government, and personal responsibility within Hansford County.
"This is about giving people another serious option and making sure their voices are represented locally," Richmond said. "Liberty starts at the county level."
